A New Hess is Born!

Congratulations to my brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Lorna, on the delivery of their new baby girl, Sophia Anne Hess. She was born today, weighing in at 10 lbs. 7 oz., and was 22 inches long!! She's so adorable, and I think looks alot like her big sister Alaethia. Praise God for another healthy addition to our ever-growing Hess family! ;)
By the way, when I showed Elijah a picture of Sophia on my phone, and explained to him who it was, he told me that there was a huge explosion, and it hit Sophia on the head. After listening further, he explained to me that there was this huge explosion, and Sophia came out of Lorna's belly-button, and the explosion hit her on the head, LOL. Gotta love what kids come up with! (Just glad I don't have to explain where babies come from... yet!) ;)

Our Trip To Washington

For Christmas, Kevin got me a Southwest giftcard so that we could all go visit my sister and her husband. They live in Renton, WA, just ouside of Seattle. We were able to spend a week there, and enjoyed it so much. I have to say, I am usually "happy to be home" after most vacations, but this time I was really bummed to be back. The weather was absolutely beautiful the whole time there (who says it ALWAYS rains in Seattle!? It was sunny every day we were there! Only sprinkled one evening!!!). This was both the boys' first time on an airplane, and they both did surprisingly well. We were pleasantly RELIEVED. Tyler's ears didn't bother him, even though he was recovering from a stubborn double ear infection. Elijah got a big kick out of it, and made lots of friends on the airplane, as he does everywhere he goes these days. They BOTH loved looking out the window, which could be hectic at times, but it all worked out, and went well.
It was so fun to see Linz's "baby bump," and feel the baby kick. I really enjoyed hanging out with her and Jordan. We were able to go to the Seattle Zoo, the Space Needle, Snoqualmie Falls (a beautiful waterfall), downtown Seattle for dinner to P.F. Chang's (yummy!!) and to see where Linz works, The Ballard Locks, and even do some relaxing and Wii playing. :) There were so many pictures to choose from, I made this slideshow! Miss you guys already! Can't wait to see that belly grow bigger and BIGGER!

Dancing Boys :)

We all knew Elijah had awesome moves... now it appears Tyler's got some, too! ;) Except once Elijah got closer to me video taping, Tyler got excited and followed... then the concentration got lost, lol.

The Autorama

Look at the design under the hood area... amazing, huh!?

This was Kevin's favorite.. a Chevelle
The wood detail inside was also amazing
Oooooh!

A close up of the paint job- looked like lace!
This last Saturday we went to the Autorama Car Show, in Sacramento. There were tons of classic cars there to drool over. Some were just breath taking. Some were ridiculous, lol. Over all, it was fun, especially for the boys. Even Tyler enjoyed himself, as you'll see in one of the pictures he's pointing in awe. :) We got to try out our new (to us) double stroller, which was SO nice. Can't wait to use it more!

Pa and Elijah

The other night when it was time for bed, Elijah got to pick out of everyone in the room, who he wanted to read to him that night. Out of Kevin, my mom, my dad, Kyle, Kelly, and myself, he picked my dad. It was adorable. ;)

Why Why Why?

I got this e-mail, thought it was funny... I changed the text color to red on the ones that actually made me laugh out loud (prob cause I've done it before!).

Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are almost dead?
Why do banks charge a fee on 'insufficient funds' when they already know there is not enough money?
Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars; but have to check when you say the paint is still wet?
Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?
Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw a revolver at him?
Whose idea was it to put an 'S' in the word 'lisp'?
If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes?
Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white?
Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale?
Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?
Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?
Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try?
How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures?
Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?
In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat?
How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?

Tyler Gabbing

Anyone who knows Elijah knows how silly he is... so, it's only natural that Tyler has picked up some odd noises to say, and is a very silly boy as well. I grabbed the camera one night because he was just going on and on in his own little world, lol. Then we started trying to get him to do little things he knows how to do- like shake his head "no," and make kissy sounds. He did some things, not others. :)

Happy Birthday Kevin!

Well, today Kevin was finally able to pick up his birthday gift, after waiting 10 days for it. Yes, you probably guessed it-- I got him a shotgun for his birthday. He has really been wanting one for a while now, and so I told him to pick one out for his birthday (since I had NO clue what he wanted, making it impossible to plan a surprise like I've done in the past). He has recently had the desire to go hunting, something he's never done, so he's very excited to get to try it out. Elijah went with him the day he got it, and was equally excited today to go pick it up, lol. He said he wanted to "boom the birds, rabbits, bunnies, squirrels, and racoons," lol. Happy Birthday, love.. I'm so glad you like your gift! ;)

Trip to the Cabin

The fam! :)
For those who've ever played Pinnochle, this is one of the BEST hands you can get, a Double Run. This was my hand, I was so excited! Couldn't have done it without my partner, Kevin!! :) It's worth a total of 200 points!!!
I was proud... it was in the morning though, so please excuse the lack of make-up, lol!

Elijah found a big block of ice that he enjoyed throwing and breaking

He had alot of fun sledding!

Kevin's always the dare devil :)

The setting got accidentally changed so some of these are super bright

Woo Hoo!

Daddy even had fun!

Even I braved the slope! ;)

Look at that sneaky face!

I have not been able to get on here for a while, as our computer was having some major problems.. had some spyware that loaded itself in somehow. Thanks to our good friend Kevan Riley, it was detected and removed! He definitely is blessed with an amazing knowledge of computers... we went in to some crazy places to find that spyware and delete it! Anyway, we are back in action, and I wanted to post this sooner, but here it is!

Kevin (my husband!) turned 29 years old on the 25th, and to celebrate we went to my parents' cabin for the weekend. The four of us, along with my parents, had a great time. It snowed while we were there, which was so beautiful, and one afternoon Kevin, Elijah and I drove up about 15-20 minutes past the cabin to find a good sledding hill. We had fun sledding, making snow angels, and throwing snow balls. Here are a few pictures from the weekend!
