A Fun-Filled Birthday Weekend!

Happy 30th birthday to the love of my life, Kevin!!!!! I am so thankful God blessed me with a husband that is also my best friend. You mean so much to me my love, and I am so happy with you!!! Hope you had a fantastic and memorable 30th birthday. Can't wait to celebrate even more with you! I love you!
Monday, January 25th Kevin turned 30. I wanted to do something super special for him on this particular birthday, something he could look back on for years and always remember how he spent his 30th. So, Friday night I planned on SURPRISING him with Monster Truck Jam tickets. Like 5 days before, Elijah started playing with one of his monster trucks and Kevin said, "Elijah, wouldn't it be fun to go and SEE monster trucks!?" He totally wasn't fishing for any hints, he knew the show was coming the upcoming weekend, and was just trying to get Elijah's response. Elijah, who knew the surprise (I know, I shouldn't have told my 4 year old and expected it to stay a surprise.. but it really couldn't be avoided at the time!), excitedly said, "DAD! How did you know we were taking you to go see it!?!?" AGH! Well, that ruined the surprise, but I'll never forget Kevin's face. So Friday night we loaded up and went to Sacramento. We were there so early that we had like 40 minutes or more to kill. Our seats were LITERALLY the last possible row the arena offered, LOL! Thankfully, with a show like this, there was no bad seat in the house-- and we should know!!! It kinda looked like a handicap area, because it had it's own little couple of steps in front of 2 of our seats, so the boys could switch back and forth between their seats, our laps, and the steps. We ALL enjoyed the show, it was incredible. Elijah and Tyler wore ear muffs most of the time, and so they weren't bother by how loud it was. It was very exciting and entertaining.

The Batman truck was our favorite! The boys LOVED this!

Tyler ate practically this ENTIRE churro by himself!!! lol

Donkey Kong vs. Batman

This was actually Monday night, the 25th, Kevin's actual birthday. We went to the Texas Roadhouse for dinner :)
After Kevin sat on the saddle while we all sang to him, Elijah and Tyler took a turn! :)

Been A While...

Sorry I've been lagging on here.. have brought the camera out a few times recently, but have mostly been doing short videos on it, and they take FOREVER to load onto here so I've been avoiding it!!! Anyway, here are some pictures over the course of this month!! ;)

A couple weekends ago on our way back from OR, Grandma Preszler came back with us so she could catch a plane in Sacramento to Hawaii. Both boys enjoyed having her company, and she was so sweet to them. Elijah used her as a head rest AND foot rest multiple times (sometimes without her even knowing it!) She got more sleep than either boy, as they were stubborn and never napped! lol

Wolverine and Superman :)
Snugglin in Elijah's bed (notice Tyler's arm under Elijah, so funny!)
Awww.. matching pj's! :)
having fun in the fort Daddy made in the living room
Playing dress up in the fort!
Rockin away- Tyler loves doing this
Yee Haw!!

New Year's Commitment

Well, I can think of at least 2 times I've committed to reading through the Bible in a year, and sadly I've failed both times. I don't even think I made it halfway. I'm going to try again this year. I'm hoping if I make a public post about it that it will help encourage me to follow through, cause EVERYONE will know of this commitment, and surely someone will ask me how it's going! I'm following a plan that keeps you in chronological order, which to me is less confusing. For a long time I assumed the Bible, if read from front to back, occurred in chronological order... but it does not. So, this study will take me through history relatively in order, and I look forward to it. For anyone interested in following along on this journey, please contact me and I can give you a copy of the plan! :) Or, many Bibles offer their own plans- there are even some that get you through the Bible in 90 days! I don't think I'd understand anything I read if I did it that fast!

Cootie

Elijah got the game Cootie for Christmas from my parents. This was an all-time favorite of mine and my sister's growing up, and for those who've never heard of it (including Kevin!!!), it is a MUST have! Well, Elijah played with it for the first time today. I didn't know how this would go (as he has a very LIMITED attention span!). Well, apparently he made my parents play it like 7 times!! And when he came home it was the first thing he wanted to do! It was so cute. So, the four of us played it, even Tyler (he just LOVED tossing the dice across the table!! haha), and Kevin won (BEGINNER'S LUCK!). lol. It was fun- the first time ALL 4 of us were able to individually play a game. Thanks again Mom, and Dad, it will get MUCH use... especially on camping trips!! :)

Elijah's New Game

Elijah got this game from my uncle, aunt, and cousin in New Hampshire: Steve, Elyse and Emily. It's similar to a Wii, only meant for young kids (and can't replace games). You can play baseball, tennis, or golf, and to accomplish your goal you either have to swing only at certain colors, or certain letters, or numbers, or even add or subtract and choose the correct answer. Elijah needed help with the adding and subtracting, but it just amazed me how well he picked up on everything. I just sat there in amazement of my 4 year old that is just so incredibly smart. I praise God for his ability to learn, and look forward to school years with him, as I believe he will thoroughly enjoy learning new things. He had a blast with the game, and it will be a new favorite! Thanks again you guys!!!! Love and miss you!

A Glimpse on The Boys' Personalities

I pulled out the camera because Tyler was being so silly, talking about Daddy (who was sleeping)and kept making this new cute face where he would tilt his head to the side and give a big cheesy grin. You see him do it in this video.

Elijah blew me away one day when I found out he knew this-- I had NO idea. Then he told me they say it everyday at Bible study, which we do together on Thursday mornings. It's so amazing how he remembers things! He's definitely got Kevin's memory.. mine is nothing to be proud of, lol!! (Although having children damages brain cells I think, haha!)
